The Super Bao Short Story

A “bao” (包) is a type of steamed, filled bun or bread-like (i.e. made with yeast) item in various Chinese cuisines, as there is much variation as to the fillings and the preparations.
(Picture shown above is not a real Bao, please do not eat.)

When my food craving starts to fill my mind these days, the idea just came. SO, I used my brand new white socks to make a Bao look’in monster. With a dash of red coloring on top to make it more like a bun, he becomes the world most Super Cha Shao Bao, (叉烧包: filled with barbecue-flavoured char siu pork)

Even the most Super Cha Shao Bao has his emo side. He wishes…. :P

He wishes he can fly like Superman. And escape from the humans(including myself) who wish to eat him alive!

Its really a hectic day on Saturday. So for the next day, I’ve got to wake up early to take a photo of  Munchy Monster with Captain America!

Just when we start taking the 1st picture, Alvan and I began to venture more with our monster!

More adventures in our fansite!

It’s been a long time since i blogged. I must say, i did my best to do what i need, want, must prepare for this year STGCC. Its the first time i have a booth there. The experience is valuable to me. Yeah, i managed to take a breath and snap some photos from iPhone during the preparation.

Straight after STGCC has released the list of artists in their website, i have a crossover project from Edward (a toy collector/blogger)

In the process of making a rainbow dragon monster~

Then his baby dragons…

How about a Batman x Munchy monster? (challenging…)

And here’s the complete set of the Dragon empire! wala~

And i made Batman Munchy Monster re-enact his movie scene. hahaha

Rushing like mad. But i always tell myself, if i’m making toys, it only means i enjoy making them. So the self-chanting works (occassionally)!

This photo really describes the meaning of handmade, hell rush.

When dates are really near to STGCC (Singapore Toy Games Comic Convention), i really want to introduce our NEW member using fabric than socks. Here’s the making of Ninja Fox in SHOCK. And I did it (of cos, with problems and grumbles). Not as easy as i thought it can be…*sweat

Sorry for the blurry photo. Its mad rush now, seriously!

And i would like to have my fav. creations done in an illustrated stylised design on Canvas tote bags. :)

Bubble tea for you? (Each only comes in 40 pieces, Limited Edition, while stocks last!)

Alvan has illustrated my creations so well. My interpretation of ‘Be Grateful’ becomes so lively! I simply adores it!

Prints of my creations. (Photographed by myself)

Punching time~

Yes! They are all ready to march into the convention at Suntec City! “Munch & marchhhhh!”

Okay, feels quite disappointed that the booth is smaller than i expected. But well, looking at the banner that wrote ‘Kikeimono’, i smiled once again!

wala~ That’s alot of creations. Hmm, I thought i made too little, but just enough for my booth. :P

Keep a look out for my next blog for the actual day! ;)

Do you believe in “Keep believing what you are doing?” It’s easiler said than done. I dont know how far i can make it and how long i will be making things that put a smile on everyone. Ffrankly speaking, i’m blessed with friends and family who love what i’m doing. 3 cheers for them.

When Munchy Monsters are being selected as one the featured design. I am really excited about it ( I’ve sucessfully disgusted it with my hectic days with freelance project)! Now its up and  i still find it quite unbelievable.

Gen-Y likes them, hope you like them too!
